Diamond Seas layers 32 live performances of 'The Diamond Sea' on top of one another. Composer John Oswald, known for Grayfolded, the plunderphonics work he made for Grateful Dead, edited the material into two continuous pieces of 20 minutes and 44 seconds each: side A uses only performances from 1995, side B only those from 1996. The song closed the 1995 album Washing Machine and kept stretching further on stage, which made it suited to this treatment. The release appeared on 18 April 2026 via Geffen Records as a Record Store Day title, in an edition of 3,500 copies. This edition is an LP on white vinyl, pressed for Record Store Day.
