Team Sleep was originally released in May 2005 via Maverick as the only studio album by the project of the same name. The band arose as a side project of Deftones singer Chino Moreno, who formed the group with his childhood friend and guitarist Todd Wilkinson and DJ Crook. The material had come together between 2000 and 2004 and offered an atmospheric form of alternative rock with influences from trip-hop, electronica and shoegaze. The album featured guest contributions from Rob Crow of Pinback and Mary Timony of Helium.
