Soft Control is the tenth studio album by The Afghan Whigs, released on August 21, 2026 on Royal Cream and BMG, in the band's fortieth year. Greg Dulli and company recorded the ten songs across Fireside Sound in Joshua Tree, Marigny Studios in New Orleans, Gold Diggers Sound in East Hollywood and Sycamore in Cincinnati. Former drummer Patrick Keeler returned for the sessions, and singer and violist Petra Haden and keyboard player Bo Koster of My Morning Jacket contributed. Jungle Roux, House of I and Duvateen announced the album; the soul streak the band has carried since Gentlemen runs through the vocals and the arrangements here too.
