Throwing Copper is the second album by American rock band Live from York, Pennsylvania, released in 1994. The album was produced by Jerry Harrison, former member of Talking Heads, and marked the international breakthrough of the band fronted by singer Ed Kowalczyk. With singles such as 'Selling the Drama', 'I Alone', 'All Over You' and especially 'Lightning Crashes', the band was a prominent presence in American alternative rock in the mid-nineties. In 1995 the album reached number one on the Billboard 200, and more than eight million copies were sold in the United States. The music combines post-grunge and alternative rock with spiritual and social themes.
