Long After Dark originally came out in 1982 and was the first album with bassist Howie Epstein, who had replaced Ron Blair. You Got Lucky opens on a synthesizer and, thanks to its science-fiction video, became one of the band's first MTV hits; Change Of Heart and Straight Into Darkness are among the tightest rock songs Petty and Mike Campbell wrote together. Jimmy Iovine produced, as he had on Damn The Torpedoes and Hard Promises. Petty said later that the album would have been better with Keeping Me Alive on it. This edition is an LP.
