Scarlet's Walk originally came out in October 2002 on Epic Records as Tori Amos' seventh studio album. She wrote it while touring the United States in the months after 11 September 2001 and called it a "sonic novel about a road trip": eighteen songs tracing the journey of a character named Scarlet across the country. "A Sorta Fairytale" became the best-known single, followed by "Taxi Ride" and "Don't Make Me Come to Vegas". The album entered the US chart at number seven and was certified gold a month later.
