Six seasoned Los Angeles session musicians, among them David Paich, Steve Lukather and brothers Jeff and Steve Porcaro, joined forces in the late seventies as Toto. Their self-titled debut, originally released in 1978 on Columbia, produced an instant hit with Hold the Line; Georgy Porgy and I'll Supply the Love also appeared as singles. The album laid the groundwork for the blend of rock, pop and funk that would later bring the band worldwide hits like Africa.
