The Origin Of The Feces originally appeared in 1992 as Type O Negative's second album, presented as a live record but taped in the studio with a faked, jeering audience. The Brooklyn band combined gothic and doom metal with black humour, including a reworked take on Black Sabbath's "Paranoid." Frontman Peter Steele reshaped material from the debut Slow, Deep and Hard into long, heavy tracks. This edition marked the album's thirtieth anniversary.

This anniversary edition is a 2-LP on green and black vinyl, with a gatefold sleeve and poster.
