A Dramatic Tour of Events – Select Board Mixes bundelt live-opnamen van soundboardmixen uit de wereldtournee die Dream Theater in 2011 en 2012 rond A Dramatic Turn of Events speelde. Het was de eerste officiële liveregistratie met drummer Mike Mangini, samengesteld uit shows in onder meer Londen, Austin, Montreal, Tel Aviv en Tokio. De selectie loopt van 'Under a Glass Moon' en 'The Great Debate' tot het eenentwintig minuten durende 'The Count of Tuscany', met LaBrie, Petrucci, Myung en Rudess. De opnamen komen rechtstreeks van de mengtafel, wat de uitgave een rauw, direct karakter geeft.
