Jack Johnson vroeg begin 2020 aan Lee "Scratch" Perry om een album met dub remixen te produceren op basis van Jacks meest geliefde eigen repertoire. Het project werd helaas afgebroken toen Scratch op 29 augustus 2021 stierf. Het jaar daarop kwamen Jack en Subatomic Sound System (Perry's band van het afgelopen decennium) met elkaar in contact en ontdekten dat ze alle elementen hadden om Lee "Scratch" Perry's drie creaties tot bloei te brengen.
