L’homme à tête de chou wordt vandaag beschouwd als het “andere” meesterwerk van Serge Gainsbourg’s discografie, naast Histoire de Melody Nelson, en had nog niet al zijn geheimen prijsgegeven. Bijna 45 jaar na de release, bevestigt de herontdekking van de multitrack tapes, opgenomen in Londen in de zomer van 1976, één ding: achter de virtuoze talk-over van Gainsbourg gaat een buitengewoon muzikaal kunstwerk schuil. De nieuwe mix voor deze editie van 2023 stelt een nieuwe belang voor tussen de vocale en instrumentale delen van L'Homme à tête de chou, met behoud natuurlijk van de oorspronkelijke intenties.
