Sign O' The Times is het negende studioalbum van Prince, een dubbelalbum dat oorspronkelijk in maart 1987 uitkwam. Het ontstond nadat hij The Revolution had ontbonden en drie aangekondigde projecten (Dream Factory, Camille en Crystal Ball) weer had afgeblazen; wat overbleef speelde hij grotendeels alleen in. De titeltrack is een kaal drumcomputerstuk over aids, crack en de ramp met de Challenger, in 'If I Was Your Girlfriend' zingt hij met een opgehoogde stem, en verder staan er nummers op als 'U Got The Look' met Sheena Easton, 'I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man', 'Starfish And Coffee' en 'Adore'. De critici van The Village Voice kozen het in hun Pazz & Jop-poll tot album van 1987.
