News Of The World werd oorspronkelijk uitgebracht in 1977 en is het zesde studioalbum van Queen. Na de barokke productie van de voorgaande platen kozen ze hier voor een rauwere, directere aanpak, deels als reactie op de opkomst van punk. Het album opent met twee van hun bekendste nummers: het stampende We Will Rock You van Brian May en Freddie Mercury's We Are The Champions, beide geïnspireerd door meezingend concertpubliek. Verder staan Roger Taylors Sheer Heart Attack, Spread Your Wings en het bluesy Sleeping On The Sidewalk op het album. Mede door de twee openingshits werd dit het best verkochte album uit Queens loopbaan.
