Blood Sugar Sex Magik is het vijfde studioalbum van Red Hot Chili Peppers, uitgebracht in 1991. Het werd geproduceerd door Rick Rubin en opgenomen in een oud herenhuis in Los Angeles, met de bezetting Anthony Kiedis, Flea, John Frusciante en Chad Smith. Het album betekende de commerciële doorbraak van de band en mengt funk, rock en meer ingetogen ballads. Bekende nummers zijn 'Give It Away', 'Under the Bridge', 'Suck My Kiss' en 'Breaking the Girl'.
