Ace Frehley

Ace Frehley was the original lead guitarist of KISS and the man behind the Spaceman character. Between 1973 and 1982 he wrote KISS songs such as "Cold Gin", "Shock Me" and "Rocket Ride", and his 1978 solo album gave him his best known hit outside the band with "New York Groove". After leaving he carried on under the name Frehley's Comet, rejoined KISS for the reunion years between 1996 and 2002, and built a second run of solo records from Anomaly (2009) onwards with Space Invader, Spaceman and 10,000 Volts. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with KISS in 2014. Frehley died on 16 October 2025 at the age of 74.
