Master of Reality was originally released in 1971 as Black Sabbath's third studio album. For this record Tony Iommi tuned his guitar down, giving the sound a heavier, sludgier weight that laid the blueprint for doom and stoner metal. With Ozzy Osbourne, Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward, it holds tracks such as 'Sweet Leaf', 'Children of the Grave' and 'Into the Void', broken up by the short instrumental pieces 'Embryo' and 'Orchid'. Its lyrics touch on cannabis, religion and apocalyptic visions.
