A party that keeps going while everything around it wobbles: that is the starting point of AFTERPART1, the first part of Davina Michelle's two-part project AFTERPARTY. Its seven songs deal with freedom, identity, self-acceptance and the awareness that life is fragile, wrapped in danceable pop. Speaking to Italian site Newsic, Davina called it her most personal work. "Still Champagne" grew out of a painful moment but is about choosing to celebrate life anyway, while "What A Woman" celebrates the many ways of being a woman. The singles "Round I Go" and "Babygirl" are on the album too, alongside "Pinky Swear", "My Oh My" and "I Can't Even Hate You Anymore". The cover shows the morning after a party, with the mess and the empty bottles still in view.
This edition is an LP on pink vinyl.
