Thirteen years after Tomorrow's Harvest, Mike Sandison and Marcus Eoin returned with Inferno, their first studio album since 2013. The eighteen tracks were recorded at their own Hexagon Sun studio and mastered by Matt Colton at Metropolis Studios in London. The duo still work with detuned tape and analogue synths, but the emphasis here falls on darker, occult-tinged atmospheres and on spoken fragments cutting straight through the music, from Introit and Prophecy At 1420 MHz to The Word Becomes Flesh and Arena Americanada. Pitchfork rated the album 8.6 out of 10. Inferno was released through Warp Records.
