Elvis '56 collects the studio recordings Elvis Presley made in 1956, the year he broke through as the face of rock and roll. The selection favours that year's rhythm numbers - 'Heartbreak Hotel', 'Blue Suede Shoes', 'Hound Dog', 'Tutti Frutti' and 'Don't Be Cruel' - over the ballads and country material. The recordings were made at RCA in Nashville and New York and at Radio Recorders in Hollywood, and show how quickly his style took shape in a single year. The set also includes an early, alternate take of 'Heartbreak Hotel'. This edition is an LP on clear and black marbled vinyl.
