Relapse, originally released in 2009, marked Eminem's return after five years without a solo album, a period in which he came off an addiction to painkillers. Dr. Dre produced almost the entire album and gave it a tight, dark sound. Eminem worked in accents, horror stories and serial killers as characters, a choice that gives the album its own place in his catalogue. 'We Made You' and '3 a.m.' led as singles, 'Beautiful' is the most openly personal track, and 'Crack a Bottle' with Dr. Dre and 50 Cent won the Grammy for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group. The album itself won the Grammy for Best Rap Album.
