Typical Of Me is the debut EP by the Icelandic singer, cellist and songwriter Laufey, originally released in 2021. Laufey, Laufey Lín Jónsdóttir in full, studied at the Berklee College of Music and grew up with both classical music and the jazz of Ella Fitzgerald and Chet Baker. On this EP she combines that jazz idiom with contemporary pop songwriting, in warm, understated arrangements. The opening track 'Street By Street' became a hit in Iceland and marked her breakthrough. 'Like The Movies' and 'James' also grew into favourites online. Laufey subsequently developed into a figurehead of the jazz revival among a young audience.
