Music from Siesta is the soundtrack Miles Davis and Marcus Miller wrote for the film of the same name by director Mary Lambert. Miller composed and produced most of the music and built the tracks together with keyboard programmer Jason Miles, after which Davis played his trumpet parts over them; only Theme for Augustine is credited to both men. The sessions took place in early 1987, at studios including Sigma Sound in New York and Amigo in North Hollywood. The music is restrained and Spanish-tinged, with long muted trumpet lines over spare electronic arrangements, and runs to just under forty minutes.
