Jazz Dispensary: The Freedom Sound! The People Arise is a compilation album from Craft Recordings' Jazz Dispensary series, released in 2024. The collection brings together soul jazz, spiritual jazz and funk from the sixties and seventies, assembled around the theme of protest and the yearning for freedom. The record features tracks by Joe Henderson ('Afro-Centric'), Gary Bartz Quintet ('Freedom One Day'), Azar Lawrence, A.K. Salim, The Dungills and Ran Blake, among others. The artwork is by collage artist Lou Beach, who previously created covers for Stevie Wonder and The Police, among others. The Jazz Dispensary series draws on the catalogues of historic jazz labels such as Prestige and Milestone.
