Sad Day On Planet Earth is a studio album by the American hard rock band Lillian Axe, originally released in 2009. Hailing from New Orleans and led by guitarist and founder Steve Blaze, the group is known for its melodic yet sturdy hard rock with a progressive streak. On this album Derrick LeFevre handled vocals as the band explored dark, narrative themes within extended compositions. Tracks such as Cocoon, Jesus Wept and the title song Sad Day On Planet Earth display the dramatic, layered style that characterizes Lillian Axe. The record is part of the later work with which the band consolidated its cult status.
