Linkin Park

Linkin Park broke through in 2000 with Hybrid Theory, a debut that fused nu metal, rap and electronics and became one of the best-selling rock albums of its time. The dual vocals of Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda became the band's signature. Meteora produced "Somewhere I Belong", "Faint" and "Numb" in 2003, after which Minutes to Midnight, A Thousand Suns and Living Things moved steadily away from nu metal towards alternative rock, electronics and pop. The Hunting Party turned back to guitars in 2014, while One More Light went the other way with a light, pop-oriented production. After Bennington's death in July 2017 Linkin Park was inactive for years. In 2024 the band returned with singer Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain alongside Shinoda, and the album From Zero.
