From Bebop To Blue follows Miles Davis from 1947 to 1959 in chronological order, from the bebop he played alongside Charlie Parker to the modal calm of Kind of Blue. The sequence makes the shift audible: the headlong "Donna Lee" and "Cheryl", the softer horn arrangements of the Birth of the Cool sessions with Gil Evans and Gerry Mulligan, the hard bop of "Doxy" and "Oleo", the film music for Ascenseur pour l'échafaud and finally "So What", "All Blues" and "Blue in Green". Culture Factory issued the three-part collection on 18 April 2026, the year in which Davis would have turned one hundred, listing the place, date and personnel for every recording. This edition is a 3-LP on silver and black vinyl, pressed for Record Store Day.
