Seven songs, forty minutes, and four of them have never left rock radio: Tom Sawyer, Red Barchetta, YYZ and Limelight open Moving Pictures, the eighth studio album by Canadian trio Rush, originally released in February 1981. The band recorded it in late 1980 at Le Studio in Quebec with longtime producer Terry Brown, striking a balance between the extended prog suites of the seventies and a tighter, more radio-friendly sound. The instrumental YYZ, named after Toronto's airport code, earned a Grammy nomination; the album hit number 1 in Canada, reached the top 3 in the US and UK and went five times platinum in America. AllMusic calls it "widely regarded as Rush's best album", and Rolling Stone included it in its 2020 list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. This edition is an LP on black vinyl.
