Ricochet was assembled from recordings of the European tour Tangerine Dream played in 1975 and then edited in the studio into two long parts. It was their first live album and originally came out in 1975 on Virgin Records, with Edgar Froese, Christopher Franke and Peter Baumann. The first part builds towards one of the tightest sequencer passages in their work, the second is looser and turns on a piano motif. Together with Phaedra and Rubycon it belongs to the core of their Virgin years.
