Vessel is the album that took Twenty One Pilots from Columbus, Ohio to a worldwide audience. It was their first release through Fueled by Ramen and the first time Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun worked in a proper studio, with producer Greg Wells; some of the songs were already known from the self-released Regional at Best. The album originally appeared in January 2013 and mixes piano pop, rap verses, synths, and punk energy, with 'Holding On to You', 'Guns for Hands', 'House of Gold', and 'Car Radio' as singles. Tracks such as 'Migraine', 'Ode to Sleep', and 'Trees' remained fixtures of the duo's live shows for years.
