Seven months after the murder of John Lennon, Yoko Ono released an album that deals with that loss head-on. Season of Glass, originally from June 1981, is matter-of-fact and uncomfortable at once: songs about grief, anger and fear, and on the sleeve Lennon's bloodstained glasses beside a glass of water. Musically it moves between bare ballads and sharp, almost danceable new wave. The single Walking on Thin Ice, recorded in the final sessions with Lennon, was not on the original release and later turned up as a bonus on reissues. Pitchfork included the album in its list of the 200 best albums of the 1980s. This edition is an LP.
