Megadeth

Megadeth formed in 1983, after guitarist and singer Dave Mustaine was thrown out of Metallica, and grew into one of the Big Four of American thrash metal. The band is known for high tempos, the intricate guitar work of a much changed line-up and lyrics about politics, war and addiction. Rust in Peace (1990), with Marty Friedman and Nick Menza on board, and the commercially successful Countdown to Extinction (1992) count as the benchmarks of that catalogue. After more than forty years and seventeen studio albums the band signed off with the self-titled Megadeth of 2026, the first album of theirs to reach number one on the Billboard 200.
