Theatre of Pain was Mötley Crüe's third studio album, originally released in 1985. The band shifted from rawer heavy metal towards a more glam-oriented sound. Smokin' in the Boys Room, a cover of Brownsville Station, became the group's first US top 40 hit. The ballad Home Sweet Home received heavy rotation on MTV. The album came out shortly after singer Vince Neil's car accident, in which Hanoi Rocks drummer Razzle was killed, and was dedicated to him. Theatre of Pain reached the top 10 of the US albums chart.
