Dr. Feelgood gave Mötley Crüe their only number one placing on the US albums chart in 1989. It was the first album the band recorded sober, with producer Bob Rock in Vancouver, and it sounds tighter and heavier than the glam work that preceded it. Kickstart My Heart, Without You, Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away) and the title track were all released as singles. This anniversary edition places the remastered album alongside rare demos and live recordings, with a tour book, poster and further memorabilia in the box.
