Normaal

Normaal formed in 1975 around singer and guitarist Bennie Jolink in the Dutch village of Hummelo. The band started out singing in English, then switched to Achterhoeks after a blues sung in dialect went down well on stage, and that regional language became its trademark. The 1977 hit Oerend hard brought the breakthrough and established Normaal as the originator of boerenrock, Dutch farmers' rock built on hard guitars, boogie and lyrics about life in the countryside. The reputation was built on stage, in marquees and on field stages and later at festivals such as the Zwarte Cross, while the band delivered a new album almost every year, up to Nøhlen in 2024. In 2025 Normaal marked its fiftieth anniversary.

This collection brings together Normaal on vinyl, LP and CD: reissues of the studio albums from the 1980s, 1990s and later, plus anniversary releases such as 40 joar Høken.
