Ozzy Osbourne

Ozzy Osbourne started out as the singer of Black Sabbath and from 1980 built a solo career that shaped heavy metal just as much. Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman set the tone alongside guitarist Randy Rhoads, with Crazy Train and Mr. Crowley as their calling cards. Jake E. Lee followed on Bark at the Moon, after which Zakk Wylde became his long-serving guitarist from No Rest for the Wicked and the multi-platinum No More Tears onwards. Through the nineties and two-thousands Osbourne kept making albums, founded the Ozzfest festival, and reached an audience far beyond metal with the television series The Osbournes. His thirteenth solo album Patient Number 9 won two Grammys in 2023. On 5 July 2025 he performed at the farewell concert Back to the Beginning in Birmingham; he died on 22 July 2025.
