Party was the last record Iggy Pop made for Arista, the follow-up to Soldier. He worked again with Ivan Kral, formerly Patti Smith's guitarist, and the label pushed the sound towards radio: horns, a slicker production than people expected from him, and two covers, "Sea of Love" and "Time Won't Let Me". "Bang Bang" was released as a single and was later recorded by David Bowie for Never Let Me Down. The album originally dates from June 1981; Arista dropped Pop shortly afterwards. This edition is an LP on blue marbled vinyl, in a limited run of 1,000 copies.
