On Origin of Symmetry, Muse pushed Matt Bellamy's piano and falsetto to the front, over heavily distorted bass and arpeggios that lean towards classical music. 'Plug In Baby', 'New Born' and 'Bliss' became live staples, 'Feeling Good' is a reading of the song Nina Simone made famous, and the closing 'Megalomania' was recorded on a church organ. The second studio album originally appeared in July 2001. In the United States it stayed unreleased for years after the American label pushed for new, more radio-friendly vocals.
This edition is the 2021 XX Anniversary RemiXX, for which Rich Costey remixed the album and to which 'Futurism' was added, originally a Japanese bonus track. It is a 2-LP.
