After Roger Waters left, David Gilmour carried Pink Floyd on and made the band's thirteenth studio album with Nick Mason, originally released in 1987. Richard Wright played on it as a session musician and afterwards rejoined officially. The sound leans heavily on the production tools of the era: banks of synthesizers, electronic drums and Gilmour's wide guitar tone, heard in "Learning to Fly", "On the Turning Away" and the closing "Sorrow". The instrumental opener "Signs of Life" begins with the sound of oars on the Thames. The world tour that followed ran for more than two years and produced the live album Delicate Sound of Thunder. This edition is a 2-LP.
