Shake Your Money Maker went against the grain in 1990. While hair metal filled the radio, two brothers from Atlanta put out an album that sounded twenty years older: Stones riffs, gospel backing vocals and Otis Redding. The debut, originally released on Def American and produced by George Drakoulias, delivered Twice As Hard, Jealous Again, She Talks To Angels and a cover of Hard To Handle. Chris Robinson sang, his brother Rich played guitar alongside Jeff Cease, and not long before the group had still been called Mr. Crowe's Garden. In the United States it became their best selling album, certified five times platinum.
