Nightlife, originally released in 1974 on Vertigo, was the debut of Thin Lizzy's classic twin-guitar line-up: Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson alongside Phil Lynott and drummer Brian Downey. The fourth studio album sounds remarkably restrained, with soul, Hammond organ and string arrangements, and Lynott produced it together with Ron Nevison. Gary Moore plays lead guitar on Still in Love with You, on which Frankie Miller sings with Lynott, and Philomena was released as a single. AllMusic calls it "a subdued, soulful record".

This edition is an LP on orange vinyl, the National Album Day edition.
