Kings is the film score by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis for the 2017 film of the same name by director Deniz Gamze Ergüven, set in Los Angeles at the time of the 1992 riots. The two musicians, both also active in Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, composed a largely instrumental, atmospheric score. Pieces such as "Latasha Harlins", "Kings" and "Earthquake" rely on restrained piano, strings and electronic textures. The music underscores the tension and drama of the story.
