Van Morrison

Van Morrison started out in Belfast with Them, the R&B band that scored with Gloria and Here Comes the Night in 1964 and 1965. On his own he first wrote the summer hit Brown Eyed Girl, then Astral Weeks, a folk, blues, and jazz hybrid cut in two days that only built its reputation years after release. Moondance turned in 1970 to shorter, swinging songs with horns and gospel backing vocals, and that register stayed his signature, from His Band and the Street Choir and Domino through to Avalon Sunset and Have I Told You Lately. He kept releasing albums at a pace few of his contemporaries matched, returning again and again to blues, jazz, skiffle, and rock and roll. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993 and knighted in 2016.

This collection brings together Van Morrison on vinyl, LP and CD: the classics from his early years, the later studio albums, and individual titles from across his career.
