Make Way for Willie Nelson is Willie Nelson's fifth studio album and originally appeared in 1967 on RCA Victor. It was recorded in 1966 at RCA Studio B in Nashville with Felton Jarvis and Chet Atkins producing, and shows Nelson mainly as an interpreter: Born to Lose, A Mansion on the Hill, and Have I Told You Lately That I Love You sit next to One in a Row, the only original on the album, which reached number 19 on the US country singles chart. The strings and backing choirs of the Nashville Sound are laid on thick, exactly the approach Nelson grew more uncomfortable with in these years and that eventually sent him back to Texas. The album reached number nine on the country albums chart. This edition is an LP.
