The Album was originally released in 1977 as ABBA's fifth studio album and coincided with the film ABBA: The Movie and its accompanying tour. It contains some of the group's most elaborate songs, including the hit single "Take a Chance on Me", "The Name of the Game" and the three-part mini-musical suite featuring "Thank You for the Music". The album shows a more mature, carefully produced side of ABBA and stands as a turning point towards their later work.
