Agnes Obel wrote, arranged, played and produced this fifth studio album entirely in her own Berlin studio. She handles the vocals, piano, keys, synths and samples herself, with guest musicians adding violin, viola, cello, bass, lap steel, harmonium, flute, saxophone and percussion. The twelve songs circle around new beginnings, metamorphosis and a closer bond with the natural world, themes that surfaced around the birth of her first child. She drew on the poetry of Enheduanna and on Hannah Arendt's idea of natality. 'Laymelli' went out ahead of the album as the first taste. It is her first album since Myopia in 2020, again on Deutsche Grammophon.

This edition is an LP.
