Cursum Perficio is Anthrax's twelfth studio album and their first in ten years, following For All Kings from 2016. Scott Ian, Charlie Benante, Frank Bello, Joey Belladonna and Jonathan Donais worked on it from 2022 onwards at Studio 606 in Los Angeles, with Jay Ruston as co-producer. The album holds eleven songs, among them It's For The Kids, which Ian describes as a four-minute thrash song harking back to the band's first era, plus The Edge Of Perfection, Everybody's Got A Plan and NYC93. The title is Latin for 'my journey has come to an end': Benante spotted the phrase on a tile in Marilyn Monroe's last home and told Nuclear Blast, 'We aren't saying this is our last record, but our journey has come to an end.'
