Some Old Bullshit collects the earliest Beastie Boys recordings, from the years when they were a New York hardcore band. It gathers the 1982 EP Polly Wog Stew and the 1983 Cooky Puss EP, the latter built around a prank call to an ice cream parlour and their first tinkering with samples. That line-up was Michael Diamond, Adam Yauch, John Berry and drummer Kate Schellenbach. The compilation originally came out in 1994, long after the group had turned to rap, and runs on fast punk songs of barely a minute. This edition is an LP on white vinyl, released for Record Store Day.
