After the electronic detours of Ghosts of Download, Blondie returned to a band sound on Pollinator. For the eleventh studio album, released in 2017 through BMG, Debbie Harry and Chris Stein wrote alongside outside guests: Charli XCX, Sia, Dev Hynes, Dave Sitek and Johnny Marr all contributed songs. Joan Jett and Laurie Anderson sing on Doom or Destiny, The Gregory Brothers on When I Gave Up on You. John Congleton produced the sessions at The Magic Shop in New York, the studio where David Bowie had recorded Blackstar shortly before. Fun and Long Time were released as singles.
