Catch a Fire, originally from 1973, was the first Wailers album on Island Records. Chris Blackwell had the Kingston recordings overdubbed in London with rock guitar by Wayne Perkins and clavinet and synthesizer by John "Rabbit" Bundrick, to open reggae up to a rock audience; the first pressing came in a sleeve shaped like a Zippo lighter. The line-up was still the original trio of Marley, Peter Tosh, and Bunny Wailer, with the Barrett brothers as rhythm section. Concrete Jungle, Slave Driver, Stir It Up, Kinky Reggae, and 400 Years, sung by Tosh, are on it, and the album features in Rolling Stone's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
This edition is an LP on 180 gram vinyl from the Back to Black series.
