Trenchtown Rock is a compilation of 32 recordings from the early years of the Wailers, from the period before Island, when the band still consisted of Marley, Peter Tosh, and Bunny Wailer. The emphasis is on the sessions with producer Lee "Scratch" Perry around 1970 and 1971, with the first versions of songs that later returned on the Island albums: Kaya, Lively Up Yourself, Small Axe, Sun Is Shining, Duppy Conqueror, 400 Years, Soul Rebel, and the title track. These are recordings that fall outside the Island/Tuff Gong catalogue and have therefore appeared on many different compilations.

This edition is a 2-LP.
